Does anyone have some advice to share to a newbie LW player? Do you concentrate your raids aganist a specific target (e.g. airfields to gain an AS victory) or do you try to differentiate your targets?
At which alt german bomber will do the max damage? I tried 2 raid agains two PRI AF with He111 (12000 fts) but I got only 20-30 target damage.

PS
I've lost 39 Ju87 to spits and Hurricanes on turn one [:D], any help is really appreciated

read the Kevin vs Swift AAR [:)]
I think Kevin is doing very well as Axis player in this PBEM!
(but PBEM with Kevin is a really nice task - like playing chess with a really good chessplayer)

other hints:
- recce, recce and more recce! You need to know if A/C are on specific A/Fs and also the amount of AA guns
- go after AS victory in the first month (AS=12), if you do not reach that change to industry and terror.
- if you target industries, there are some nice charts around here (damage to xxx will also have some effect to industry YYY and ZZZ.....)
- look into the Allied OB/OA, because you need to know what A/Fs are FC main A/Fs (for AS victory)
- be careful with the Stuka! use it for coastal targets, because the Hurricanes and Spitfires will not be nice to them if they catch them!

Oh Swifty, now you've made me blush Sorry, I couldn't find one that's blushing!

I can only agree with everything else Swift says, except that I don't think he emphasised the important of reconnaisance enough. He should have said recce, recce, recce, recce, recce and more recce... and then maybe a bit more recce. In this game, quality recce photos are a real force multiplier.

I like Stukas, and find they operate especially well in coastal areas where there's no radar coverage. That way they can arrive and hammer a target (something they do well if attacking from a great enough height - don't make them glide-bomb) and be gone just as the ROC are getting on the 'phone. But they still need escorting of course, for the times they do run into fighters.

On the subject of AS, the single most important factor in calculating this is the number of RAF fighters available. Wear them down and you are well on the way to an AS win. I've mentioned this several times recently in my AAR.

As for bombing altitudes, the general rule is the higher you the harder you are to hit, but the harder it is for you to hit your target. Do what airforces did in RL, set up a few test runs (more than 2) and try it out. Vary the altitude, flak and size and type of target and see what effect each has.

Thanks guys for the infos, very appreciated.
I am on turn 7 (8/18/1940) and I have hit mainly radar sites and PRI A/F but with high losses (292 LW - 70 RAF).
Need to reduce my losses, I cannot sustain this loss rate.
Bye.

i just beat the computer RAF on turn 55 by concentrating on destroying RAF fighters in the air. I used a few 'bait' raids every day, say a hundred bombers with a heavy escort, and the rest of the fighters were sent on sweeps during the raids, and for up to 2 hours afterwards. Most days i could catch the brits landing after going up after my raids and destroyed many more this way than in actual dogfights. I managed to gain victory on turn 55, with abt 1500 aircraft lost, vs 1600 for the RAF [:)][:)]
