Hi,

I´m just trying to do a clean install of HCE on my laptop.

I tried the following sequence of patches:

1. The original release 2007.000 = worked after update

2. The full installer 2008.021 = worked after updated

3. The incremental update 2008.044 "public beta" = worked after update

4. The latest installer update 2009.042 = crash, the ge doesn´t start at all. Error message: "Printer doc" ???

That is weired. I found another update: 2009.036. Do I have to install this one in between 2008.044 and 2009.042?

Or is their another update sequence which creates a clean install of HCE until the latest version?

Hi Ralf,

Should be:
1. 2007.000
2. 2008.044
4. 2009.042

I don't the the wrong version in #2 was your problem, more likely one or more of the patches was installed to the wrong directory. Make sure they all install to the same place.

Yes, that was it! The 2009.042 installer tried to install into C:\C:\Matrix Games\HCE instead of the correct path C:\Matrix Games\HCE.
