I downloaded the file.
I click on the file.

I use Kaspersky internet security.
After posting the message above I browsed the forums for a little while.
After about 5 mins, I realised the installation process had begun!
Then I received a Micriosft message - Kaspersky has to close do you want to send a message to Microsoft - well NO because I want to install the game!
A moment later a Kasperky message popped up: Kaspersky has to close do you want to send a message to Kaspersky? again NO because I want to install the game!
The game is now installed.
So it seems Kaspersky caused the problem.
I have since studied Kaspersky and can't figure out how to stop this happening again!

We always recommend disabling any anti-virus/security software before installation. Some of them love to mess up installers while they scan the whole huge installation file and often prevent some of the necessary registry settings from being installed. There is normally a way to disable your anti-virus in its options.

Hi Joe, my Norton Internet Security wouldn't let my install begin either. It gave me a big red cross - Intruson Alert [:D]
I had to exclude the file from being blocked. After that, no problems.

Kaspersky was designed by computer geeks, not by users! [8|]

Hi,
Does anybody know how to temporarily disable AVG 9.5?? Can't find anything in the AVG Help section. With BFTB I get as far as installing the 3 libraries (DirectX. Framework etc.) when a Windows message to the effect that the setup files are being configured pops up.... and then nothing further happens. It just hangs and I end up uninstalling the game. I've many Matrix games including all of the Panther titles and I've never had this happen before. I'm guessing it's blocking the Library installation.
Thanks!
Rob.

Hi,

I wonder why people don't use google for stuff like that.
I entered "disable AVG 9.5" in google and got to the AVG forum, where I found a link to the AVG knowledge base...
Try this:

Hi GoodGuy,
Actually it's more stupid than lazy in my case......
Thanks for the post and link.... was what info I needed.
The game installed and runs fine.
All too often I find that dealing with software issues results in a lot of

on my part.
