Aeroplanes on runways...

if you'd be creating a scenario with an airfield
how would you go about putting planes on the
ground ?
can you change a units pic and sound just for one
scenario , without affecting OOB's n stuff ?
this way one could make planes seem to take off
by making them appear in a reinforcement hex
in front of a hanger (a halftrack , for example ,
with pic and sound of aeroplane) , then make it
"fly" to the edge of the map and disappear
(into retreat hex) , yes ?

Aircraft of class Cargo Plane can be made to appear on a map as a reinforcement. However, the AI does not know what to do with it.
In control of the human player, the plane can be made to fly anywhere on the map. You would have to edit the speed of the plane in the scenario editor to some speed that allows the plane to move fairly quickly e.g.20
I used this in my scenario "A Daring Escape" where my SAS units were rescued by lysanders after completing their mission.

An excellent scenario, with an air of espionage and mystery to it. Well worth playing (and hard as heck to win!). Nice job, Paul. I enjoyed it.

yea just noticed I hadnt played it cause it lacked
intro and it said it was a 4 player game or something
also weird ammo dumps near the runway in victory
hexes
did a scenario myself once with ammo dumps in victory
hexes and when they got destroyed , the hex became
"impassable"
also , there was some sniper dude that didnt move at
all and maquis units or something that the german infantry
units wiped out with one or two bursts
otherwise looked very cool with them civilians , agents
and stuff , like Bill said
so...any news on how to add stuff to the OOB instead
of just editing it ?

I can send you a copy as it stands. It has not been upgraded for v7.1 but it should work ok.
There are three variants, one for single player, one for two players and one for 4 players.
It plays best in the online mode against another human but the solitaire version works well too.
Since I can not figure out how to post an attachment here, you will have to send me your email address. pls reply using the private message feature- the pm button.

Here is the scenario.
I have upgraded the 2-player version for use with v7 or v7.1
The 4-player version is unaltered.
Text files are included for the introduction of the two versions.
rtf files are included which give you your orders/instructions.
The ammo dumps are located on points-per-turn VH's which score points for the computer opponent every turn. The sooner you can destroy these ammo dumps the fewer points the opponent will score.
The more units you remove from the map the more points you will score. If you do not rescue the agents and civilians you will not score a decisive victory.
The Germans are alerted. It will take them a little time to arrive on the scene but soon you will be in a mess of trouble. The Maquis are also arriving; some of them a little late.
Play with all realism options on but reduced squads off.
Good luck.
