Just Purchased + Expansions

Based on Slitherine’s popular tabletop wargaming system by the same name, Field of Glory now comes to the PC in a faithful adaptation of this acclaimed miniatures wargame! Without the calculations and measurements required for a tabletop game of Field of Glory, the PC version accurately represents Ancient and Medieval combat where you make the important and fun decisions on the battlefield. This forum also supports the Rise of Rome, Storm of Arrows and Immortal Fire expansions to Field of Glory.

Just Purchased + Expansions

Post by sabre1 »

I haven't had a chance to play yet, but being a teacher, Summer is coming.

I just got the whole shooting match, and I hope it's as good as everyone has been telling me. [:)]

It would be nice if down the road Slitherine added some kind of campaign module for us guys that don't do much MP.

Anyway, thanks for the hours spent in playing such fine games that Slitherine has made in the past and hoping for a wonderful relationship with Matrix in the future.

You can thank LarryP for my purchase btw. Resistance was futile.

Oh, I forgot to ask.

What is the best way to upgrade when you have purchased all the games in the series?

I'm assuming install all games and then implement 1.21, followed by 1.26?

Thanks for the help.

I also just bought the batch this week. The add-ons don't need to be installed before the patch - even though the patch enhances these games. The best order to install is:
1. FoG
2. Patch 1.21
3. Patch 1.26
4. Add-ons

Agree that some sort of campaign generator would be awesome where each battle remembered the state of your units.

Also, the games themselves can be played in single player well under an hour so don't be put off by thinking you need a lot of time. You also don't need to know the rules 100% to get started. [:)]

Finally, for any other players thinking of getting the game, buying the add-ons is really important and adds heaps to the game-play because it adds randomized armies and randomized battlefields.
