It seems to be tied to the "retake position" check box. BTW the manual says it is off by default (which makes sense) but it is on by default.

Well, I can't upload the save and I can't email it to the email address you have in your profile.
What is the usual method for uploading files other than pictures?

Here is that same aa unit and all I did was click on the defend order and check "retake position".

Note that these units were never driven off from the original defend position.

Were you using a modified Estab file?

Or the one that shiped with the game?

I have also encountered this problem. I am currently playing Manhay Crossroads and ordered a regiment HQ to lead a reinforced bn on an assault command. It got halfway before they all froze. Their status is moving except for the lead unit that has status defend, but "force marching" in its log. The freeze came long before they reached their FUP.

The unit that is in command of this debacle is the 3 Pz Gren Regt, in the lover part of the map. (Save game attached)
