The Story of Roorea Prime Nation

This is the AAR of my Human Republic, the Roorea Prime Nation. It will mainly just be reports of what is going on, but I like a good story, so there will be some light background story going along with it. I never really wrote anything before, so please bear with me.

Part 1: A Brief History of Mankinds Origins
[Excerpts from R.P.N.M.I.H.H. (Roorea Prime Nation Ministry of Information and Human History) official documents].
:On Ancient History:
"Mankind evolved from Primates on a planet named Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy, a world that is now incomprehensibly distant from our own".
"In the late 24th century mankind had united under one banner and had started to expand across the galaxy. There were permenant settlements on over a dozen worlds and mining, research and military installations at over a hundred more".
"Ancient man found no trace of life in space, no intelligent or non-intelligent beings, no plant life and no evidence of extinct life on any planet, until they arrived".
"A previously undiscovered alien race of unknown origin appeared in Human space at the end of the 24th century. The "invaders" offered no explanation, or communication of any kind to makind as they swarmed across known space in almost impossible numbers. Very little is known about the invaders, because rarely did a single ship or individual survive an encounter with them".
"In less than five years Earth itself was under assault from the "invaders", and our ancestors faced impossible odds, the invaders intentions were clear, no Human would survive, our race would become extinct".
"But all was not lost, Earth's leaders had devised a plan to ensure the survival of Mankind. No ship could escape the seige, any ship with life detected on board was attacked and destroyed. Hidden in the Asteroid belt in Earth's own solar system a fleet of ships were built inside hollowed out asteroids. The ships were seeded with the genetic material needed to recreate Human life and piloted safely out of the galaxy by machines".
"It is uncertain how long our fleet was in space for, but it was far longer than Earth's scientists had originally planned. All primary functions on-board the ships were shutdown long ago by the machines due to malfunctions and general failure caused by the immense passage of time, all power was devoted to preserving the genetic material. With navigational systems failing the fleet began to break apart, it is unknown what became of those that did not make it to the Roorea Prime system. Scientists have carried out detailed analysis of the twelve ships that arrived on Roorea Prime 1 almost three thousand years ago and now sit as mighty monuments to our origin at the hearts of our twelve great cities. The age of the ships is disputed, but it is possible that they were built tens of millions of years ago. Some scientists even believe they are over one hundred million years old".
Okay that's the background stuff dealt with, first actual gameplay update coming soon. I'm a slow player but I'll update every time there is something to report. I've just started up the galaxy and alt-tabbed to write this post, I can report that my Empire has a rather odd starting position. More soon...
