It begin to really drive me nuts.
Everytime an AP finished to load troups it immediatly start to unload tehm rigth away before I have time to give him destination and I have to reload them again. THAT IS CRAZY !!!
Also when reaching destination sometimes the transport jsut sit there wkithout unloading at all !!! I start to become tired of that
What can I do, except pray for patch or sending half loaded TP ?

Pick the destination, then load.

The manual is very specific about this, pick the Destination Hex, than the troops you wish to load. See 9.21, page 60 (the yellow boxed text under "Important Note").

Hi Kerensky
Its not a bug if you don't RTFM the manual. I would'nt mind as much if you asked a question without by default stating you need to wait for the patch. The question is answered clearly and to the point in the manual.

Where they go

Hi, you can change the destination to your hearts content. The important thing is to know what you want to load before you start giving load orders. (It takes several turns to load during which time you can change where it is going but not what is being loaded) Decided what you want to move, look at it's size, make a TF larger then that size, order the TF to load that/those units. assign a destination.. For every unit being loaded you need a ship ( a 3k size ship can move a 3k sized unit or a 100 sized unit not a combition of units equaling 3k)

What I usually do is form up about 4 task forces. 1 loads troops. 1 loads supplies. 1 loads fuel. 1 might load more supplies or a special ground detachment (like an engineer battalion). For all task forces, I set a destination of just outside the port or some point about 10-12 hexes away from the port. I also make sure that each task force is set to Patrol/Do Not Retire
What happens now is, each task force loads and when it gets finished loading it heads for the destination. Once all the task forces have reached the destination and are sitting out in the water somewhere, all in the same hex, then I click on one of the task forces and hit "transfer ships to/from TF". I then combine all the separate task forces into one, and reset the destination to the place I want all these cool and funky guys to go. If its an invasion, I make sure to combine all the TFs into the TF that has the invasion force commander.
However, as has been said, the issue of unloading beginning immediately after loading finishes is clearly stated in the manual, and that the routine of always picking a destination for transport TFs is a good idea and really should be done in this game system.
Making TF

Hi, did you know, that if you make a TF and tell it to load supplies, make another and tell it to load fuel, combine the 2 the ships will keep on loading what you first told them to? (I never have the problem of a ship moving after only one turn. I think perhaps these TF's are being forgotten. You can assemble a TF, tell it what to load, (not giving any destination) and the next turn tell it where to go. (of course this depends on the size of the ships but most require more then 1 day to load no matter what cargo is assigned) Fast transport missions seem to require an immediate target base. In is a pain to keep track of all your TF's but then again that is exactly your function.

Believe it or not I did read the f****** manual but then I forgot about it because it seems so **** unlogical to set a destination while loading. in my mind setting the destination will interrupt the loading and send the TF to there. Of course it is not the way the game go but it is the way my mind do. And as I dont have a printed one to quickly refer to... ( believe it or not but I can find really quickly a sentence in any printed document by remembering the page size and form, and amount of page already turned; unfortunately I just cant memorize the page number so this gift is useless on pdf

)
I guess it goe swith the ESC shortcut for done/confirm, being a programmer and used to products ( nearly all other ) where is Esc is the shortcut for Cancel/dont make the change and not Confirm/do make the change I just cant get my mind to use it too. Hopefully jsut imagine the wreck if I start doing so in ùy 10 hours project

That seqeunce does seem counter-intuituve. I have the manual and have read it a couple times, and never caught that.

Mogami, no I did not know that. Doing it that way will be added to my repetoire in the game, but doing it with the "combine at sea and head to final destination way" also has its advantages

LOL....thought this was pretty humorous...
I think it's the only time I've seen anything that hints at a bit of frustration from DH. 'RTFM' hahaha...

For those of you that don't know, RTFM, in this case, means :

As someone who reads these message boards so my questions can be answered, i was taken aback by David Heaths Matrix Staff smart mouth comment about "RTFM".
I dont have time for crap and rude game companies. Ive been playing wargames/strategy since the 70's.
I spent more on Uncommon Valor than any game in rescent years. Trying to give wargames another chance with UV. And to read where some staffer replies to an honest question with slang is unprofessional, stains 2x3 software and reflects poorly on the maturity level of Matrix.
I read the UV manual pdf, no printed manual for a $50+s/h wargame?? c'mon... ....and i certainly dont have the manual memorized. As someone who has 60 hour week job, wife , and 3 kids, i had the same question as this Kamersky guy who started this thread did.
Please refrain from the smart mouth replies and show a lil patience and professionalism with your customers. And yes i realize questions to matrix/companies can often be asked in a more polite/respectful manner.
However, If forums are for "EXperts ONLY", consider posting them as such.
In any event, the game is still new for many of us, a simple "refer to page # in the PDF" is all that was needed.

David and everyone else is no doubt working 60+ hours a week, too. Would you prefer they not answer questions like almost every other publisher out there? I'll leave David and team a little room to get frustrated, because they do a fantastic job, and they're only human.

I dont have time for crap and rude game companies.
Then you don´t know us.
But hey there are days were you just have to let some steam of, especially when people jump on you because they don´t read the manual and play the smartass continously. This sucks bla bla, that sucks bla bla.
Senor Kerensky actually begins to get really on my nerves too with his constant no printed manual bitching. If people don´t use the abilities PDF brings you, then I can´t help them either. We sayed from the very first beginning that
this game comes
without a printed manual but with a digital one. If you don´t like that, don´t buy the game. If you still buy the game, don´t bitch and if you want it printed go and print it.
I´m really fed up with this discussion actually.
Jesus ........
Everybody here is nice and polite btw
Please refrain from the smart mouth replies and show a lil patience and professionalism with your customers.
I think you can count "smartass" replies and unpatient replies to our customer on one hand.

Well, it's one thing to ask a question on a forum ... and another one to directly attack the game assuming that there is a bug !
The Matrix/2by3 support on this forum is really great ... but it should not prevent people from reading the manual and using the Acrobat Reader "search" function
So thank you Gary, Joel, Keith, Mike ... for this wonderful game ... and I am looking for many other 2by3/Matrix games

You might wanna look at the "thumbnails" of the pages then. They´re embedded in the PDF for quick loading and your convinience
