like SC pacific theater or is it different. The screens look similiar. I already have a SC pacific theater and don't need another. IF not will someone please give a brief difference. One question can you play head to head?

I'll try to wrote few things that makes Storm over the Pacific different from SCPT. (Please note that I only played 1941 campaign in SCPT few times)

In Storm over the Pacific:
- you have hexes instead of tiles,
- you can lead any country or combination o countries, so you can play only as Nepal or all Allied countries at once,
- ships are moving as groups combined into the fleets in sea zones instead of single unit on a single tile,
- Naval battles are played at the end of the turn,
- depends on the scenario you an lead battalion sized units to corps (Pacific campaign use div-corps scale),
- one turn is a day-week long (depends on scenario).

If by head to head you mean human vs human then the answer is yes.

I'm a big SC fan, and also a big pacific war buff since my father fought there as a Marine. From looking over the screen shots and AAR it looks like this game is more complex and more operational than SC which is basically strategic only.

I'm planning on getting the demo first, but am wondering about how complex and realistic this is, especially land combat. How long does an average turn last, etc.?

Turn length depends on what stage of the war you're in. For the Japanese, early on, it would take me 30 minutes or more to do a turn, because there are so many decisions to make. Lots of planning. Lots of different theaters and assets. Alternatively for the Allies early on, not so long - more in long-range planning than actual assets to handle. For the Japanese, as the weeks move on and my strategy is in place, there's less time needed. Maybe 15 minutes or so.

Now if you wanted to get deeper into things, like some player do, renaming units, etc. there's scope for even more time spent.

That's for the campaign game.

For a scenario, some are short and involve few assets, and can be played much quicker.
