Hello All,

In BOB '40 when playing as the LW I sometimes get a message whilst attacking the target saying '40mm Bofors gun destroyed'. I get that bit, but what do the asterisks mean? I've seen anything between 1 and 4. I'm guessing that they correspond to the number of guns taken out but I'm not sure. Great game by the way.

it is not the numbers destroyed, but something like the intensity of the attack AFAIK

Thanks a lot for the info. I'm a bit disappointed as I had hoped I was taking out a few assets!

I have never counted it from the AA side, but for Tanks/Art/Inf, it is the number of kills made

(drawing a blank right now, but there is something funny about the way the count works (which is why we always thought it was not counting kills) IIRC, it does a double count to start with, so if you get a 2, it is only a 1, if you get a 3 it is a 2 and so on)

okay, I remember it now

if you get the little stars, one at a time, count those, those are kills, if you get more then one, count that as one (that is where the intensity of the attack idea comes from)

my run

I got 6 single stars (6 kills)
2 stars and then 2 more (3 kills)
5 stars (!) and one more (2 kills)
2 stars and then 2 more (3 kills)
5 stars and then 3 more (4 kills)
4 stars and then 2 more (3 kills)
2 stars and then 4 more (5 kills)
2 stars and then 2 more (3 kills)
6 stars and none (1 Kill)

and yeap, that works out, target had 64 AFV in it, end of mission it had 34

counting the stars, shows 50, if you take it at face value (which 30 is a pretty dang good set of raids, and since it was a test run, no enemy showed up to ruin the party)

Thanks, thats a big help. I'm a big fan of the game but I wish there was a bit more info in the manual. Hope you can help with my next post too.
