How do I transport air groups?

When I build and deploy an air group in the US west cost, I cannot seem to get them to "island-hop" by normal movement(except for the strategic bombers). I cannot load them by sea transport like infantry. So how am I supposed to transport these groups to the front line?

use strategic movement. In addition to using SMPs, I believe it costs some PPs.

You can fly from Pearl to the Central Pacific and then to Line Islands.
You to be in the right location.
I don't know where else you can fly as I haven't tried all the combinations.
