I am immeasurably disappointed with this game!
After I've watched the videos, I purchased Conquest of the Aegean in November 2009.
The videos were great and fascinating!
After completing the tutorials I thought woa, that's great stuff, that promises many hours of fun and a challenging job!
After reading the manual and completing the tutorials, it's my way, to just jump into the game and order mostly irrational stupid trains to getting used and comfortable to the gamesystem.
A scenario, I can not remember the name, with the German side I was ordered to reach with my troops from the northernmost the southernmost victory location on the map.
What have I done?
I have ordered all of my units, regardless of the enemy threat in the forced march right south to the final destination.
Speed: Fastest
Route: Shortest
Aggro: Min
ROF: Slow
Then I put the acceleration to maximum.
I made no further intervention to the action and after a few minutes, my units reached, almost unaffected by the enemy, the southern assembly point so as to complete the scenario successfully.
I am bitterly disappointed.
Where is the strategy? Where is the challenge? Where is intelligent gameplay?
Improved AI. Smarter both as an opponent and when executing your orders?
Realism and accuracy are the watch words as this pausable continuous time design Allows you to command at any
echelon, with smart AI subordinates and an incredibly challenging AI?
I have not found!
I have worked maybe about 10 hours with the game, then uninstalled it and never played again.
For me, Conquest of the Aegean was a great waste of money.
I am sorry Erik.
Now Command Ops Battles from the Bulge is released.
I would be much more interested in that scenario than in the Aegean scenario.
But after my very bad experience with Conquest of the Aegean, I dare not to spend a large sum again for a game with such a disappointing logic.
Or is it a bug?
