Problem with weather reports and a strange enemy E&S

I am running a game where suddenly the "Check the Weather" function has stopped working. I move my pointer over the weather display but nothing happens. It worked at the beginning of the scenario (Peipers Drive to the Meuse) but suddenly it became unavailable. I reloaded the game and still had the same problem. I then restarted mt computer and reloaded and saw that everything was working again.

In the same scenario 2 Plt B Coy (M) 743 Tank Bn managed to drive right through my defences in Stavelot (mainly due to the fog, which I could not see myself according to the point above). It however got shot up badly, so bad that it only have "---------------" as entry in its E&S field. I have had "recent-current/excellent" intel on it for about 30 minutes. The general tab states that the unit consists of 7 men and 1 AFV. (see illustration below)
I just felt I need to get this logged before I forget them.
