Setting multiple waypoints. When, or at all? [&:]
Is it wise to set multiple waypoint, or at all?
If, when?
Or better leave pathfinding by default to the AI?

I usually use the pathing tools to see the probable route the units will take... then If I want that path modified I will know more or less where I need to stick in a waypoint. You can always shift the waypoint but there is a command delay.

I never use waypoints..I pick the desired route\path (covered and so forth). The only time I sort of do away point is to select an FuP, though sometimes I don't even do that. When I have forgone doing an FUP when attacking with say a battalion I have had the battalion then sort out an attack from two or three different angles (a coy in each direction) to more or less surround the enemy.
