The more I enjoy this game. Infact it is my No1 wargame at this scale. At first I thought I'd have trouble with immersion as there wasn't a casualty count per man...however this is something I no longer think about...with all the events and choices and the way the game plays out is very reminiscent of WW1....

So for those who haven't purchased this game I suggest you go out and buy the gold version...I say again it's THE best wargame I've played thats not tactical (my favourite scale). The only other game that gets as much enjoyment and maybe abit more playtime is CMSF and it's modules.....the best Matrix game I've played so far with BftB coming second.

I have been following this game for months now and have finally decided to buy it. Like I need another wargame! It is a great time for wargamming.

This game is really a good representation of the conflict in multiple areas.

Even though WW1 does not keep a specific count of casualties, it is charted and there are ramifications to suffering losses. With too high of losses, even while achieving victories, there will be a loss of national moral. If national moral drops too much it begins to affect military moral-thus the ability to fight effectively. Replacements are limited and variable (depending on player choices)-there is a bottom of the barrel.

I agree...thats another reason why I'm enjoying the game so much....there are so many variables that effect combat....love it.
