Hi Legio

were you part of the beta test? It looks like it. If so you would have been mailed telling you to revert to the 1.2.8 patch before trying to upgrade as the beta version needs to revert to a real version before it updates.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but reinstalling 1.2.8 before you install IF will solve the problem.

Hi Iain,
no, I wasn't a beta tester.
I tryed in the following mode:
Installation sequence first time:
FOG > patch 1.2.8 > Field of Glory_Rise of Rome > Field of Glory_Storm of Arrows > Field of Glory - Immortal Fire ( FOG, ROR and SOA were already installed)
Installation sequence second time:
I have uninstalled all, I cleaned registers and than I begun the installation step by step like explaned before, but when I tryed to install the patch 1.2.8, a message appears with warning about 1.3.0 already installed. At this time I have reinstalled the patch 1.2.8. Trying to play the game immediatly it works ok but when I restart the system if I try play the game crash with the massage I sent in my previous message.

Hi Legio,

Are you saying that after you uninstalled everything and reinstalled just FOG, it claimed that it was already updated to 1.3.0?

Can you please try the following installation sequence?

FOG -> ROR -> SOA -> IF

Let us know if that works.

Also, were all of these the Matrix installers or were some from the Slitherine store?

Regards,

- Erik

If you install FoG, then RoR, then patch to 1.2.8 and install SoA and IF. IF will run the updater to get you to v1.3.0 and you should be up to date.

legio x,

That's very odd indeed. Could you tell us what you are using for anti-virus/security software? Have you had any installation issues with past installers? Restarting the system should not change the game files, but it makes me wonder if something outside the game is doing that.

Regards,

- Erik

Hi Erik,
I uninstalled all antivirus, firewall is not active, I have upgrade my notebook system with the SP3 and Explorer version 8.

All works with FoG, RoR, SoA patch 1.2.9, but when I install IF, it works until the system is restarted.

When I block the game with Ctrl Alt Canc, I can see that is used the patch 1.2.9 and not 1.3.0.

(My system is: MS windows XP SP3, Intel pentium M processor 1,73GHz, 2,0GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 6800)

Hi again Legio X,

Sorry to ask for more details, but this could help us try to figure out what's happening with your installation.

Could you please list for me the exact file names of the installers you are running and the exact order you are installing them in? We can then try to duplicate that here and see if we get the same results.

Regards,

- Erik

OK Erik,
the sequence is the following:
1) FieldofGlory-SetupRelease-DR-v101 117741KB 06/07/2010
2) FieldofGlory-Update-Comprehensive-v128 422518KB 07/07/2010
3) FoGRiseofRome-SetupRelease-DR-v125 83445KB 06/07/2010
4) FoGStormofArrows-SetupRelease-DR-v125 83626KB 06/07/2010
5) ImmortalFire-SetupRelease-v130 501579KB 16/07/2010

I used the same step for the installation on my desktop, and works normally.

Another thing, second my opinion very important, when I open the "Task Manager Windows" in my desktop under applications tag, I can see two files in execution:
Field of Glory: (Version 1.3.0)
FOG IMF Gamemenu

If I do the same thing on my notebook I see these two files:
Field of Glory: (Version 1.2.9)
FOG IMF Gamemenu

I hope I could help you understanding the problem.

Ciao

We're going to rebuild a master patch to take you to the latest version but it will take a few days. This should resolve any issues. Sorry for an inconvenience.
