Hello everyone,
I am playing a solitaire game (see my AAR) and I realize that germany have a hard time on the east front. I try to figure why.
My german units were at a level 2 tech (panzers and inf) at the start of Barbarossa. (may 1941). The soviets are at this level too (I play the ETO mod made by Uxbridge, thanks to him !).

In your games, what are the tech levels of the soviets and germans units at the start of Barbarossa ?
Now, in middle of august, I can upgrade my german units to level 3 but I have less than 200 PP per turn and in this mod, I can only upgrade the inf at the front...mech units have to be sent back home...(house rule)

Your tech levels sound about right, but your Germans should have a significant advantage in war fighting ability. In ETO Blitz the Soviets should have a fairly significant degrading when the campaign begins, for ten turns I think. This is the "happy time" for your Axis forces.

The need to use the upgrade hexes for your panzers requires careful planning. Remember to uplevel the smaller formations rather than the ones which were called corps in ToW. You can increase the size of the units in the field, only creation and upleveling require a trip back to depots.

thanks for this answer...I will open my previous saved files and see what were the characteristics of the soviets units two months back. Anyway, as the german, I am very far from Moscou...
what do you think about the PP income in the middle of august 1941:
Germany : 184
Italy : 215
GB : 275
USRR : 160
USA : 160
Germany lost the control of the iron ore route (18 pp) but I find the german economy too low...

I don't remember how you handled the French, but in our game Uxbridge has the Germans give themselves 50PP per week as compensation for a curious handling of France. In our game France is quiet, but not taken, and there is no Vichy state either. The British have an incredible PP base at 275! How on earth have they managed that?

I think you might well increase your Germans by at least fifty a turn. You might pick five cities and each turn check to see if Germany holds those cities. If so use F11 to increase the German PP by ten for each city. As you know a good game depends on the Axis having the initiative until the Allies can wrest it away. Fifty PP a turn seems like a workable adjustment.
