Is docked near to the land without water around it or just next to the ground?
Thanx for your time.
Cheers

The ship is tied up at a port (dock), either loading, offloading or stationary - so "next to ground" as you say. And disbanded is anchored somewhere "with water around"...

i think disbaned is where the ship is not in the water to be repaired. Or is this something else?

No, that's drydock, in game represented by setting repair mode for a ship to "shipyard", as opposed to normal "pier side"

I do not understand why I need to set my bombers to "naval attack" to hit docked ships while I need "port attack" to hit ships at anchor in port. If disbanded = anchored I should set port attack for both disbanded and docked ships IMHO.
Bye

Game logic is that Docked belongs to TF and falls under Naval Attack, Disbanded to port falls under Port Attack.
Note btw, that docked ships do not benefit from base AA, only from TF AA. I found out that hard way supplying Java, confirmed by michaelm.

Because docked ships are combat ready and try to get underway in case of attack, while ships at anchor usually don“t have
the full complement of crew on board and are not considered combat ready.

Is this when the ships are in the port and not at a taskforce or docked, so it's undocked?

Hi Maartener,
Anchored means "disbanded into port." The ships are not part of any TF.
Docked means ships are part of a TF and the TF is docked or tied up to a pier at a port.
Undocked means ships are part of a TF and the TF is not tied up to a pier. The TF is considered to be underway within the hex.

If you disband a TF at a friendly port, they automatically go into the port and tie up beside port repair facilities, etc, making them immune from naval strikes and sub attacks. A TF that docks at a port is still vulnerable to both subs and air attacks.

Are ships that arent in a task force in a port are anchored?

Yes. Anytime you disband, they are technically anchored.

Yes, they're considered to be in some kind of protected anchorage which is why you can't attack them with a sub, and available to be serviced by the port facilities.

Except you
can attack them when they're in a shipyard. By air.

Sub Attacks will happen if TF in hex at sea or if Port <3 if docked or disbanded.

Wich kind of airplanes attacks are used and where are they for ships at the ports?

If you set your planes to "port attack", they will randomly attack any ships in port (disbanded). The more ships there, the greater chance some of them will be attacked.
Davbaker, I've never seen sub attacks made on disbanded ships in port. I have seen sub attacks made on docked TF's in small ports, as you described, but once they're disbanded I believe you cannot attack them with a sub.
