Air Transport = Max Fatigue??

Gentlemen;
Playing #17 as the allies. Current turn 28 Aug 1942. Whenever I move a ground unit with the C-47's, the ground unit will go from low (17 or so) fatigue to very high numbers. Moving a Base Support unit from Cairns to Port Moresby shot the fatigue up to 80 on the Base Support Unit. Would appreciate any ideas to work around this!
