Can we edit game files, such as zone of control movement, with notepad?

If you know what you are doing, editing files with a csv extension can, indeed, be done with notepad.

Be aware also that Notepad (lovely though it is) can also insert unwanted invisible CR/LFs. You are recommended to use a simpler text editor that doesn't. Try EditPad Lite.

We often use notepad++, also Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice.org Calc but those need to be configured right since we use ";" to separate values, in some countries default is "," ;)

Beautifully serendipitious topic, Bleck.[:D]

I have just asked in the Modding and Scenarios forum ("In-Game Edits" thread) whether there's any problem if I do a global search and replace of commas for semi-colons and then play with commas?
