Would love to see Commander-GW add some flavor to the map by adding historic locations to the map, ie Ypres, Douai, Arras, Passchendaele etc. Just a dot and the name in small print on the map would add some nice flavor.

Locations that had a significant strategic importance in the war will definitely be portraited, such as the fortress(es) at Verdun and the flooded area around Ypres.

Adding other historical names (without any specific effect on the gameplay) would be easy enough. But the reason I would argue against it is that it's quite difficult to avoid the map getting crowded with text and icons. With the western front filled with units, strength-, supply- and entrenchment icons, national emblems, city- and fortress names & icons, there is only so much additional information you can show on the map before it becomes overwhelming or a pixel soup.
