3.4 beta & old saves

I have a game of Trotsky's War going against the PO and I'm wondering if I'll benefit from the PO enhancements if I use my old save with 3.4.
Or will I have to start a new one? More to the point, how much of the new system will be present when opening a game started under the previous patch?
Thanks

In the single player, you should be able to upgrade and switch to the new supply rules, turn rules, etc., although they may take a turn to take effect.. In the multiplayer, you can't change those options.
My philosophy is that It's your game and in single player you can change any options you want. If you're playing against someone else, I do enough to keep honest people honest.

So the old saves should work exactly as they would in the previous version?

I don't think so. I played a few turns this morning and when you open a previous version .sal, it has the new rules turned off by default. You can turn them on and it takes a turn to begin working, I think. Now my game should work as if I'd started it under 3.4.

That's what I mean. If I update, will the PBEM continue as under the previous version if I don't turn on the options? Or is there something that will be changed?

There are some basic engine changes, but you will be playing with the old turn order and old supply rules.

Yes. You either need to both upgrade or neither upgrade. There are some combat changes outlined in the what's new at the top, although turn order and supply rules are still the old rules.
I'd wait until the official release, and possibly a bit longer for feedback myself since FITE is a long scenario.

Me and my opponent Erik DK are continuing a pbem of Desert Sabre (relative unknown Desert Storm mod, without air units) which we started under 3.2
Everything is running fine for both of us. New Supply Rules and New Turn Order Rules cannot be turned on in PBEM. In games vs the PO however you can switch to those new features.
