Been following the developement of Grigsby's War in the East with interest. I'm not familiar with Advanced Tactics system. How does it compare with the complexity of Grigsby's system? [&:]

If this can have a reasonably simple system yet catch the feel of WWII operational level, there may be a winner in the making here for those that like a little more simple mechanics. [:D]

This is what the AT system is all about.

I agree with what Mr. Osprey said. AT is all about acessability and still capturing the feel.

This game does just what you're looking for. Lots of detail and research went into each scenario. Correct OOB's, unit names, map details etc.

The mechanics for playing the game are really simple and can be picked up in not titme at all. Comabt is as simple as selecting units adjacent to the enemy you want to blast and click go. The result are presented graphically, but if you want you can click a detail button and get a blow by blow accounting of the battle with more stats than you can imagine... far more than AT gave.

I enjoy playing as I get the feeling of making some of the hard choices that the battle commanders had to make. As the Germans you need to be very aggressive but still not lose too many troops or your next campaign will be harder. As the defneders you get to try out lots of different strategies to slow down and grind up the Germans, making him fight for every bridge crossing and village.

Very well, thanks for the info. Looks like something I'll bite on when the time comes. [8D]

Now the obvious progression of thought... When do we get to the eastern front? [:D]
