Commanders Air & Sea

Has anyone ever seen either of these commanders get experience points?
Land works, but I have never seen Air or Sea Generals get experience.
Maybe it needs a patch.......

Nope never a one. I am 47 turns in on Rising Sun, lots of naval and air attacks.

Hi,
Once i had an Air commander get experience. It was due to being attacked by a Land unit. So it is probably only Land combat that can generate experience.
