For anybody who wants a touch of period flavour, try your hand at setting up and using this simulation of the model of radio issued to the 400+ coastwatchers who provided intel on Japanese movements and strengths in the South West Pacific Area.

Go HERE http://ww2australia.gov.au/coastwatcher/ and click on the radio tab (arrowed) to start.

You have to study on MIT to use that kind of stuff.

Hey, if the rum-swilling planters in New Guinea could learn to do it in between jumping all over the local black velvet, then I expect techno-savvy 21stC geeks and nerds like us to conquer it by breakfast time.

Only the scroll down slider under the front panel

[:D]

Other than that, you may have to depend on your radio freaks who understand pre-transistor (thermionic valve) technology.
A bottle of rum may help, too.

With or without rum you have to use some force to maintain connection with this radio.

Connection to the site dropping out?  Can't help there - sympathy.

Or just the sim drifting off freak?  The old sets used to do that. Can't help there either, really [:D]

Try more rum.
