cool game, will the future expansions tie in with the first release?, i would really like to see all the campaigns of future releases tie together and some a-historical ones thrown in for fun, maybe even a branching tree where the commander can influence decisions on campaigns for instance whether or not to engage in kursk early or late

Hi Krupp,

We haven't decided yet regarding whether the releases would tie together, but I can confirm that the future release will have campaigns like this one as well as separate scenarios and some smaller battles. You bring up some good food for thought though, a way to link them all together would be very cool if possible.

Regards,

- Erik

How about Case Green, the invasion of Czechoslovakia? Or Norway? How cool...

Any possibility to have an editor just to do scenarios limited in the game context? For example, it could be possible to do a small scenario "the drive to the Channel coast" and not to do 1944 scenarios with Allies in France or Soviets in Poland...

That was my thought to turn it into the Europa of computer wargames.

Erik - I just registered after following this site for years. I just have to say what an amazing game this is! I am truly in wargaming heaven! Can you give any hints on what we can expect to see next in the series? I will play the hell out of this game, but I have to admit after seeing what a masterpiece the new engine is, I cant help to think about taking it to the Russian Front next.

I bought Disaster on the Donets last week(good game), not knowing that this was around the corner... Well, I don't regret getting it, but you know what I'm playing now, and what I will be playing for the foreseeable future!

I agree, Norway would be cool. I see this game and it's future scenarios as a playground for WW2's less "popular" battles and the Invasion of Norway definitely fits that mold.

Yep Norway, but perhaps gibraltar as a campaign which was always a thorn in the Germa side. A campaign what if simialr to sea lion would be interesting. The Germans did have a plan to invade Gibraltar if Spain was unwilling to let the germans go trhu their territory. Just not sure what defenses the Brits have besides airpower and naval strength. With this engine dont have east title is a crime [:-][:'(]

I think that they have 2 choices, or follow a timeline or release titles based on demand... i really prefer see something in the east, maybe Barbarossa as full campaign (until the start of 1942) with the diferent fronts (north, central, south) as scens and then divided in other sub scens pre Typhoon and Typhoon... we have 1 big campaign, 3 sub campaings, and 6 scens (can add other smaller). Other option is do a pack with Norway+Balcans+Greek front and add south France in 1940 as bonus... well, are many options with the game scale.

Maybe if they dont have any plan do a post to vote could be great, first vote front, when we have a winner vote something more specific [8|]

I'm hoping to see lots of smaller scenarios - two just isn't enough. Lots of people love the smaller ones, and they are good to learn by playing. It also allows you to explore historical events that you probably won't see in the larger scenarios because the same situation won't happen. Drive to the channel was mentioned above, and would be great!

I hope to see lots of these developed and put out, as well as the larger ones of course.  I'm just getting into the game, so far so good.  It's taking some getting used too - but Vic has another winner on his hands![:)]

Smaller scenarios are the way to go for me to. Norway would be interesting but the Campaign in the Balkans, and any in the Pacific, would interest me more. Anyone for Campaigns from the Spanish Civil War? I would LOVE to see those.

Why do you want to limit this game? [:D]

Yes, especially the Chinese-Japanese or Burma theatre.
I'd like to see the Africa Campaign as well, few divisions, a lot of territory, supply line very important and an interesting air warfare phase...surely it will be a challenge [:)]

I second the Invasion of Norway. Now that would be most excellent.

i think north Africa Mediterranean, would work out fairly well, especially their might be some interesting card / strategic options, just think of an entire North africa campaign from 1941-1943, alot of what ifs, and ahistorical options based on success/ failure, also it would be the only other logical option if you were to link campaigns as opposed to the other obvious and also very good , but audacious easternfront choice, just imagine how man hexes an entire easternfront would be 1000?, would be awesome for multiplayer though could have one player control leach army group

Hi Blind Sniper

I would not want to limit the game, fair comment mind, but I find it difficult to keep track of all my units in the full campaign. Having subordinate units highlighted when choosing a HQ unit would help here. I could manage my forces HQ by HQ.

Just to be clear, I want BIG scenarios too, but need help from the game to manage my forces as it stands at present.

I vote for North Africa 1940-1943, no doubt! [8D]

If the Eastern Front is planned my suggestion is to scale up to corps level (with the divisions forming the components and being transferrable) to keep things more manageable - and in recognition of the fact that there is already a division level Eastern Front Monster in the release cue for Matrix.

Corps level Eastern Front has been a huge gap in the pc game lineup with the sole exception of the very old WIR.

Best wishes,

Doug
