You go to your grandchild's birthday party, and try to strike up a conversation with the adults about the 41-42 Japanese offensive down the Malaysian pennisula to take Singapore.
After the resulting silence, I shift to "Malaysia is an interesting country--you are probably wearing something from there"--mercifully allowing the discussion to shift to fashion.

One plays to much if one hears names like Kate, Judy, Hellen etc and thinks about planes first.

I have used AE to show my wife and kids locations in the Pacific that they hear both at home on TV and at school

When one of your coworkers says they are going to Soochow, and you say "That's right outside Shanghai" - so they ask how you know that, and you're not sure you want to answer.

Recently played a very old version of Dutch Trivial Pursuit which had questions that a young Belgian just shouldn't know. Like "what was the old name of Jakarta?" The same situation occurred.

I don't know about PBEM, but the AI would use Midget Subs in that situation.
