can anyone tell me if it is possible to increase the amount of game turns in a single player campaign or scenario?

Yes, you have to edit them within the appropriate editor.

im new. what do you mean by appropriate editor?

After starting SPWAW select solitare play then on the right choose the editor button, this will allow you to load a scenario within from, choose the scenario you want to edit then load, then a battle setup screen will open allowing you to edit almost anything about that scenario. Campaigns are a little tougher because you have to edit each scenario within the campaign seperately.
