disbanding units bug

When you disband a unit TOAW is supposed to go to the next unit in the formation and make that unit the "selected" unit so you can move it etc. I'm using version 3.4 (the 178 flavor) and I found that when I disband a unit TOAW goes to the next formation instead of the next unit. I'm not sure how hard this will be to fix but it's probably going to confuse a lot of people. I was perplexed until I figured it out.

Larry,
Thanks, I've fixed it, since I found another bug I had to fix.
The issue is that for 3.2, I added some code to say that if the flank isn't secure (based on the objectives) then it overrides the DO_NOTHING order.
Since the first objective is behind enemy lines, and you don't have any objectives that aren't owned by the enemy, Elmer says 'Forget you, I'm flanked, I'm out of here! I added code to say that don't do that if the order is Manual.
I need to sit down and write a manual on Elmer, there are some quirks like that.
If the first objective had been behind him, that wouldn't have happened.

Effect of disbanding units

It is my understanding that, when a unit is disbanded, its "equipment" goes into the replacement pool.
Is that also the case if the unit is surrounded when it disbands?
If so, that does not make sense to me.
Does anyone know how that works? Has it always been that way, in earlier versions?

- Disband Unit β Disbanded units are removed from the map
and return their equipment to your Supply Pool. It is not possible
to disband units that are Routed, Reorganizing, Unsupplied,
or βIn Garrison.β

So, if a player 2 unit is in supply at the start of player 1's turn, and then player 1 surrounds the unit in his turn, player 2 can still disband the unit in his turn, and all of the equipment goes into the pool?
That seems to be a neat way to "escape" the encirclement, and is totally unrealistic.....
Is it still that way in the new patch? If it is, then that needs to be fixed.

There are a few unrealistic things in the game. Some could be fixed but are not considered important. Some are a turn based game problem. Never can tell what will reach the top of the to do list.

Not possible with the new turn order. With the new turn order player 2's unit would be out of supply at the beginning of his turn.
