New computer. New problem PW

So, I just purchased a new fast computer.
I have WITP AE on my old computer, downloaded.
I download WITP AE, and use my previous serial number.
And then I get "Unable to find PW data!!!" [Really, 3 exclamation points]
Do I have a problem?

Did you re-install on the new PC or just copy the folder from the old one?

I re-installed WITP AE from Matrix.
Then I was going to pull the save from the old computer to the new.
The question is this: Once one buys WITP AE, can one down-load it more than once, using the serial number each time?
Or, is this a Windows 7 issue?
Or something else?

If you have Windows 7, do not install it to the programs folder. put it in something like c:/matrix games/witp AE
Windows 7 does funny things to files stored in the programs folder.

I loaded AE onto Windows 7 from the disc. I had problems with windows popping up saying I needed to close this program or windows popping up in front of the window I needed to see so you have my complete sympathy.
As Nomad pointed out, put it in it's own folder on the C drive.
Once I got it installed I haven't had any problems. It seems to run better than on XP.

Games from Matrix usually installs outside Progam Files by default.

I put it in a folder outside the Program folder, C:/matrixgames/
Still unable to find PW data.

On your orginal email from matrix saying the download is ready with digital river the code number for the game is listed.
I have it saved on my address list and have no problems installing WITP and AE multiple times. I also keep the download file on my hard drive to allow multiple installs.
I hope this helps.

Matt.buttsworth,
I am still having problems. Is it my new operating system, as I have described?

AE works with Win7.
You mentioned that you're trying to load saves from your old PC. Do you get that message only with these saves? Can you start a new game without problems?

Try copying the complete game folder from your old computer over to your new computer. This cleared up the problem for me. For some reason I could never get my system to run from a download install. Hope this works for you.

I was out of the country for a few weeks. I will try your suggestion, Albie86, once I get settled from my trip.

Nope. Still "Unable to find PW data"--even using my enclosured hard drive from my previous computer and copying all the files.
What is "PW data", anyway?
I did initially down-load it from on-line.

Some other people with the same issue:

Could you have a corrupted installer?
Or it's something specific in your computer.
