My gang is Wodins Warriors....sadly one of my gang was killed in his car smashing into a wall at 100mph during a race....luckyl I had a co driver who took over and when I crashed I was in 1st place....ended up coming 9th out of 14....

Loads of fun...wish they had a single player offline mode though...still try it out folks

I played it awhile back.

I laughed so hard, I cried, a couple times in some big races with lots of players in it. I somehow managed to go airborne in my car nearing a very tigh turn. It flipped end over end at least twice and flew over three other vehicles. If that had been the finish line, I would've won without touching the ground. What made it especially hilarious was it's turn-based system, which is excellent. Seeing all this happen turn-by-turn ends up being a frame by frame slo-mo procession. And injuries, damage, etc. are all listed next to your vehicle when they happen so it's even better. Seeing Johnny Leadfoot breaking his clavicle, and then blowing four tires and being decapitated on landing, is quite an accomplishment. [:D]

It's definitely worth playing the free racing part, at least, to see if you like it. I need to get back into it sometime, too, but lots to do.

Holy Smokes! That looks like fun! Reminds me of the Steve Jackson game "Car Wars" I used to play in the 80's. I had a semi, ran people over everywhere! [:D]

Look for an old DOS copy of "Auto Duel" if you like Car Wars games you will enjoy it. Also, another old DOS game "RoadWar 2000" built around post holocaust USA and in the image of Mel Gibsons in Road Warriors it's one of my favorites.

RoadWar 2000 was probably my favourite RPG from back then when I was a youth.

the first time i saw this you could log into a training session and a dev would come into the game with you to make sure you understood everything - during that turn i did a barrel roll in my pick up truck complete bounce off the wall turn right round and landed on all 4 wheels the next turn - the dev said he was stunned and had never seen it before and then we saw the axles broken report and i chugged over the finish line - great great game

I tried the tutorial at home,but now Im on a bus and cant connect,though I have a net connection.Its a slow server.

Roadwar 2000 is available on Classic Gamer website. £4.99 I think.
Tempted, but what must those graphics look like now?

I believe there's just a specific kind of race that you can do for free. I don't recall, maybe Wodin can point you in the right direction.

All the events that are listed after you log on you can play (In the upcoming event list)....well I've played Deathrace and Race and Combat so far.....courior missions you prob have to subscribe...You can't buy cars and trade weapons etc if not subscribed...you have to rent a car for scouting missions...you do that in your my gang web page....the other races you get a car for free...

So you can do scout mission for free now too?

Used to only be the scheduled races.

BTW.. how has the community held up? Are there still people on most hours of the day?

Auto Duel was awesome..kept getting killed near scranton...lost many nights sleep over that game lol

I thought it died some time ago?
