CTD: Iwo Jima Scenario.

Repeatable CTD.
1. Assign a commander to landing force unit. eg 1/23rd Marines Battalion <- Turner
2. Disembark unit to beach.
3. Select the unit
4. Open the unit panel icon.
5. Click the star icon next to the commander line on the panel and...
CTD EVERY time.

I'll post savegame if necessary but have repeated the above numerous times; same result.

This fixed commanders.csv file should help.

well, it stopped the crash, but there are still some anomalies...
[ol][*]If a commander is assigned prior to disembarking, it disappears on landing.[*]The commander list from the naval screen is different from the unit panel commander list.[/ol]

That is because there are commanders for naval units, for land units and for air units. If you assigned commender before disembarking that means that you assigned naval commander for naval unit, not transported land unit.

See my recent rant elsewhere about manual writing. The arseholes in Management (everywhere) who trash manuals really enjoy posts that let them justify deleting manual-writing from projects.
