...and I'm taking suggestions regarding what side (Soviet or German) and what year (1941-1945) we should play. Post here and let me know what you prefer!

Hello Erik:

How about a combined arms from late war. I would like to see how people handle those heavy-hitting AFVs. If I understand it, in many cases a hit meant a kill.

Great idea!

July/August '41 as the Soviets. Like to see how the AI handles the Germans on the offensive.

Soviet assault against a German entrenchment in late 44. Include the ISU 152 and german AT.

The Train station might be good for that.

Lot of those. Zveroboy was a Soviet scenario before it became part of a German campaign.

Something early war. I know everybody loves playing with the latest and greatest toys, but I find it interesting to have to make do with second tier equipment.

I want to see how infantry are modeled....thats an area of a game that seems far harder to get right than AFV combat...

Hi guys,

I added a poll to the top message - please make your vote there! I am also reading all the posts, but the poll will make it easier to narrow things down.

Erik,
How about something in or around Stalingrad. Perhaps a push through a built-up area, some armor trying to support a desperate German infantry attack. That way we'd see some Soviet infantry versus armor, perhaps. There is just something about Stalingrad.....

I went with Soviets '43....one because as someone said the Soviets get no love and two would like to see a Kursk scenario with the Soviets...

though really deep down I want the Germans anytime of the war....

I'd prefer you release the patch you promised us 2 years ago.

What about some real house to house fighting, battles in the train yard or the factories in Stalingrad?

diablo1,

If you prefer not to be entertained while you wait, that's fine, but I think everyone else is happy to know that this is a real release, it's coming very soon and that we're sharing more information on it as we finish it up. If you want earlier access to it, you are welcome to sign up to the testing team if you have enough time to contribute.

Looks like the 1944 Soviets won the poll (1941 Germans, 1941 Soviets and 1943 Soviets tied for second place), with quite a few requests for more infantry combat. That doesn't match the preset scenarios precisely, but I will come up with a good Random battle to fit the bill. I'll post again soon with the start of the new AAR.

Regards,

- Erik
