Artillery support

I'm playing Barbarossa 1941 as germans, and my problem is that I never get artillery support in combats.
I know that artilllery must be in Tactical or Dig in deployment to support the attack, and in range of course,
but even then the artillery units are not available.
Could somebody explain me the current status of artillery support mechanics?

And the reason you believe that they are not available is what? In the attack planner what indications have you? Maybe the arty you mentioned are not cooperative with the attacking unit?

Artillery units are not displayed in attack planners support pane.
Cooperation should not be the issue, since units belong in same formation.

Here's an example.

In Barbarossa '41, most of the artillery has a range of 1. If I put them on 'T' and they are adjacent to the attacked unit, they will sometimes support. If one of the few artillery units with a range of 2 or 3 are in 'T' and within range of an attack, they show up in the support section of the attack planner. That's what I'm seeing. Do you get the same of different results under these conditions?

Arty support is showing up in the support panel for me as well. I'm using TOAW v. 3.4 ( 178 ) and I'm attaching a picture to show you what I see. Um......if your arty unit is one of those whose range is 1 and you have it in an adjacent hex maybe TOAW doesn't see it as an "arty" unit?

Adjacent artillery is obviously not going to appear in the support part of the Attack Planner - it's already in the adjacent panes. Just add them to the attacks there, or leave them in dug in or reserve deployment.
If they are added to the attack, and they have more than 50% of their combat strength from ranged equipment, they will support at full strength (but if less, they will assault, so be careful). If in reserve, they will support at half strength if cooperative.
To tell if they've joined the attack in either fashion, see the combat report itself.

Thank you very much.
I was just looking in support pane, not realizing that if adjacent, artillery will support if in right deployment.
