Playing as Allied there are units on Bora Bora with a 0 port and no engineers. When I send a supply ship there it seems the supplies will not offload. The option does not come up on the TF screen. It's March 1942, so too early for barges. Do I just watch the units starve to death?

One does wonder how...and why... those troops are there in the first place. Did they reconstitute a unit from troops who just happened to be vacationing there? I know that it happens often enough in this game that a unit will "appear" at an island base without the player having to move it there, but I think the units at bora bora are the strangest example.

I seem to recall that it had something to do with the AI, so yes, for PBEM or an Allied player it should have been different. However, there is only 1 scenario, so ...

A port = 0 means a port = 0. An xAK can't dock because there is no dock. A commercial xAK will take "forever" to unload at a port 0 because all they have are lifeboats, and 1/10 the crew of a "real" vessel. A Navalized AK has integral boats as part of its suite. This allows it to load/unload at beaches (if in an amphib TF). Still unloads 'big' items slowly, so it is not a panacea. Suggest you hump a unit with NavSup, unload it, and wait a few days till it's settled. This is a 3 year game, so doing it right and waiting 3 days, or so, shouldn't break your bones.

3 years!??! I figure its going to take longer than that for me to finish my PBEM game. Probably will have to put it in my will to my kid to finish for me. No finish...no money!

In some cases, it may be that the troops are raised from nationals...the indigenous people of the area. And these units are usually smaller and not as well equipped.

Examples: New Guinea Ruifles, Manchuko Garrison units, Indian National Units (the Japanese sympathizers).

Establishment of US Navy fueling station with Army security and garrison. First operational deployment of Seabees. Just find an Eng unit somewhere and send it there to build up the port. From Don Bowen's OOB research for DaBabes:
Task Force 5614 (Task Force Bobcat):
Located in the Society Group and administered by the Free French. The island was assigned the code name "Bobcat" and the reinforcement unit, officially designated Task Force 5614, was known as Bobcat Force. This force left Charleston, South Carolina, January 27th, 1942 (4 days behind schedule) and arrived Bora Bora February 17th, 1942.

- 102nd Infantry Regiment (less 1st and 3rd Battalions and Detachments) – 58 Officers and 1283 Men
- Battery A, 99th Field Artillery Battalion – 4 Officers and 142 Men
- Battery C, 99th Field Artillery Battalion – 4 Officers and 144 Men
