Games fail to run

This may have already been reported but two games fail to run on my machine (Windows Vista, Intel Core 2, 2.00 GHz, 2.00 GB RAM):
Eddy's Riposte
Hell on Wheels Counterattack
After loading and clicking 'Begin Scenario' I get the following message:
CmdOps.exe has stopped working.
Message is the same if you select Axis or Allies.

Do I understand correctly that it does not crash if you run other scenarios? If so, can you try opeing those two scenarios in the ScenMaker and advise how you go. You could try reinstalling the game. Those two scenarios might have become corrupted.

All other scenarios run fine. These two open up OK in the ScenMaker.

I recommend you reinstall. Get back to me and let me know if that fixes the problem.

Have tinkered with the estabs and these two scenarios fail to run again. Everything else runs fine. The problem appears to be associated with a change in the estabs. Anyone else noticed this?

TMO,
Scenario depend on the Estabs and so it iss definitely possible that if you change them they could affect the playability of a scenario. I recommend you create a copy of the estab file and edit that and then link the modified estab file to the new scenario in the ScenMaker. That way you preserve the original estab file and this will ensure all original scenarios will run. Ditto for editing scenarios - ie make a copy and edit the copy.
Can you recall which estabs you changed and what within them you changed?

Changed a number - mainly altering number of rounds allocated to various MGs (tanks and tank-destroyers included). Added transport to US inf A/T and mortar units (but kept their foot designation). Deleted 0.50 cal HMG from British/Commonwealth Shermans. Changed M3 Scout Car to Daimler Dingo in British armoured regt HQs. Changed M3 Scout Car to M3 H/T in British Motor Bn. That's about it. Did not check after which ammendment the error occurred. The odd thing is that it's only the two scenarios I mentioned earlier that are affected.

It's probably only those two that actually use the new "dodgy" estab. I wonder if its the vehicles you added to the "foot" unit.

I wondered that too. But if that was the case, the modification to the US inf A/T and mortar platoons would surely affect all scenarios - why is it that only two scenarios are affected? If I work out which change I made corrupted these scenarios I'll get back to you. In the mean time a mystery.

Tim, I have made similar edits to the estabs, per your past suggestions, and those scenarios run fine. I checked around a bit bu I have no clue what is in common with those 2 scenarios.
However I did not adjust ammo counts (reason: resupply is abstracted anyway I think that accurate ammo counts are kind of superfluous)nor did I change out 50 cal's on the UK Shermans (Firefly already has no 50 cal, and I need more proof that the greater majority of UK 75mm Shermans did away with their 50 cal)
