I have been playing Battlefield Academy a lot and have never had any problems with the updater on that.

I have field of glory and seem to be at whaterver came before 1.33? as the updater tries to download

fieldofglory-update-comp-v133.exe from update3.matrixgames.com

downloading at about 200KB/sec but i can leave it downloading all day, nothing ever happens. Estimated time remaining stays at zero and the progress bar stays blank.

Anyone got any good ideas?

PS I have a windows 7 64 bit machine with an nvidia 9800GT graphics card.

Sorry you are having probelms. Are you having problems downloading the patch installer file 1.3.3 or downloading the update in game?

If you patch to 1.3.3 with the installer it has an improved in game updater that makes downloading future updates in game much more reliable.

what do you mean by "installer" ?

OK I downloaded the patch from the slitherine site

Install worked OK

Perhaps the issue is due to the fact that the patch is over 500 megs

It could be - we've changed the graphcis system to reduce file sizes about 70% so in future things should be much smaller to help with these issues.

Manually downloaded and installed 1.33. Now the improved update simply sticks on 'Launching Client'. Not good.

Sorry you are having problems. Could you give us some more details.What happens if you run the game without updating? What version number do you see bottom left? What are your system specs?
