Hi. Thinking of getting this game as I've played KP, BiN and BiI (all great fun and thoroughly addictive, I was just wondering why the forum is so quiet? Or is everyone at the Run5 site?

So how many of you prefer the Battlefront scale vs Kharkov?

Just curious. Thanks for posting if any of you see this.

I guess no one plays this one anymore.

Too bad.

I hear ya, but the games are solid for the most part is you like a board game feel.

Even Matrix is silent about SSG development.

Battles for Italy has the most scenarios, and is probably your best bang for the buck.

hey, thanks for input about battles of italy.

are there any improvments (software updates) in battlefront that you see lacking in the italy version?

or is it pretty much the same interface?

boy, i have been reading the forum on this system and it looks most intriguing... the marketgarden offensive. Airborne!!!

I have played the older Korsun Pocket title. I am also considering the second dnepr add-on to kharkov. I have some time off coming up and wargames are on sale! it could be a nice christmas.

happy holidays.

I wrote on the SSG forum recently that whenever I get the urge to purchase a new game I just load up all of the SSG titles with scenarios and realized there is still nothing better in a Windows environment.

They really are that good at the battalion and regiment level of play.

Much as Avalon Hill's older DOS version and V for Victory.

I think some of the user scenarios with top-notch AI could make a decent add-on for both BII and Battlefront.

I took advantage of Matrix holiday sale to buy the three SSG games I did not own.

I played the original Dnepr like daily for many months. I love the SSG system.

Just getting into the new version of Dneper and it is love all over again.

Market Garden in Battlefront also looks great.

With the sad demise of Ian Trout, we all can but hope that someone will pick up the gauntlet and keep SSG and their great game system alive.

Yes they are fantastic. The Market Garden Battlefront scenario is possibly the best PBEM scenario I have ever encountered in my many years of PBEM across multiple games. Incredible fun.

I also hope they pick up development again. And yes Stalingrad, Operation Crusader, and V For Victory were great from Atomic games as well.
