Noob Questions

Few questions. Been playing the demo for HCE and enjoy it a lot. Hoping to possibly get the ultimate edition if it comes soon and if I can afford it.
Wondering a few things. Which game has better AI, single player experience HCE or ANW? Will not likely be playing multiplayer.
Next does either game have any defensive counter measures? Seems like once a missile launches I just sit and wait for the inevitable.
Probably have more questions later but just thought I would throw these out here.

In my opinion HCE has much better game experience than ANW.
Both games have countermeasures, which are deployed automatically and reduce the probability of hit.
Strong maneouvring can als help defeat incoming missiles by making their intercept harder.

If you enjoy the HCE demo, then why not focusing on HCE. If this GUI and AI gives you fun, then H3 ANW may be not interesting for you.
HCE is "easy to learn - hard to master". It derives from the very first computer Harpoon sim, Harpoon 1 for DOS (and other OS), back to 1989 (hope I´m correct with the year).
HCE really rocks and always had had and has many supporters and fans.
It has an own community; focused on
www.harpgamer.com. There are the guys maintaining this sim, its database etc.
The good old Harpoon Classic is alive and kicking.

AI's are both scripted so for the most part up to the scenario writers to do a good job. Both games have great scenario writers so best bet is to buy both and figure out who's scenarios you enjoy most. Harpoon Ultimate will likely give you that opportunity to do that at a good price.
