Buy now or later

Post by dargoud »

Hi there,
like many of you I am waiting eagerly for Panzer Command Ostfront and I generally have a hard time waiting for things. I dont own Kharkov so I wonder if there is any advantage in ordering PC K now or waiting for PC Ostfront. Any suggestions ?

Thx Claas

My suggestion is to wait. PCO is so much different that PCK you wouldn't really gain anything by getting it now. PCO is set to be released before January 1st so I'd just wait. I'm not good at waiting either but in this case I think you'll find it rewarding.

Getting PCO when it comes out instead of buying it now would get you in the game faster as well. You wouldn't have to unlearn A LOT of the changes that have been made.

Good Hunting.

Well, I was in the same position and went ahead and bought PC:K a month or so ago.  I haven't regretted it at all and it's given me a chance to familiarise myself with the game system.

I looked at it in the sense that buying PC:K means I'll get Ostfront anyway whilst getting a look at a great game that's going to become even greater judging by the announced new features.  Then again I've had the game that precious extra month and if Ostfront suddenly appears within the next 1-2 weeks your buying it now it probably won't have been worth it.  However, I doubt it's that close so, on balance, I'd say go for it.

Or dargoud, you could actually take the advice of someone who knows what he's talking about [:D]

(I didn't see MR's reply before my post [:o])

LOL! I only posted 8 seconds before you. You were still putting that post together when my post came active.

It's all good. Both games are good. But PCK doesn't compare to PCO.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will wait for now then. Especially since I tend to order the physical shipment as well.

Just so hard to find a realistic WWII strategic tank game. Kursk 1943 was just a disappointment.

Back to painting FoW minis i guess (not that that is exactly realism..)

You know all the CMBB scenarios on TSDII? The PCO archive should look like that before it's done. There will be plenty to play. Every week we add more scenario/campaign content to the game as it gets playtested for stability. I started my first full fledged campaign today and they aren't hard to do. Nothing like we're used to seeing.

I definitely opt for buying PCK, maybe next month, as I currently have some issues with my current PC system and anyway, PCO would be a free upgrade later on.[8D] So get a good taste now and enjoy what the PCO team is working on little later.
