Sorry about the multiple threads. Okay, the last ones just were not to my satisfaction so I've got a whole new set of icons. There not finished yet as these take alot work to get right but here's a sample so far.



I only got the Western Allies infantry done but these should look better then the last set.
As far as the militia that may take a little more time.

I'm also working on a new and improved Nazi flag over the AWD deluxe version. Hopefully it will all be done in about a week with work and other things. I just want to improve on a already great game!

All the regular infantry are done although I still have to do the chip popups. I think this is by far the best infantry icon mod ever done for WAW or AWD. Keep in mind that the screenshot doesn't look as good as the actual game. Also the blue infantry I used for neutral countries still looks a bit abstract and keeps with the original theme of the game and with the bayonet on the rifle it would also work with China when it becomes neutral in the West vs East scenario. I'm still not sure if I should leave the militia as they are or try making unique ones for each country as it could be a little confusing. I might try touching up the originals.

And a new Nazi flag. I still need to do the flag buttons for the production screen but that should be easy.

It might be best just to go with the default militia units although I might still try modding them.

All the icons are finished and I also redesigned the German chip. The Japanese flag is also the correct flag. For some reason most war games include the naval ensign for Japan but the national flag was the white flag with the red disk in the center. Now the Germans also have a national flag with the war ensign for their chip.

I'll see if I can upload the mod somewhere and post a link.

I want to add that when you download the mod there are three separate mods included, the infantry and militia icon mod, the German chip and the flag mod. You don't have to install all three just whatever you want.

For the moment I'm really burned out on modding the artwork but in the future I plan on making another German chip that will still be red but only with the military symbol as I do realize some don't want little swastika's all over the map and also better drop shadows for the infantry and militia icons. As it is now I think it does look pretty cool and improves on the overall look of the game although everyone may have a different opinion.

Nice work Scott. We should talk about adding in your new inf icons into Deluxe AWD. As I said in a post several weeks ago I plan on adding in some more tank varieties and your infantry update will be a match made in heaven.

Thanks! You can do what you want with the mod but like I said the drop shadows still need a bit of work although I don't think its a big deal. Also one thing I forgot to do with the German chip is change the button in the replay current turn feature. This still seems buggy at times as the buttons will look blank.

Lebatron I'm wondering if you would ever consider doing a cleaned up map for the stock Total War scenario but without all the changes in Deluxe AWD? I'm sure I'm speaking for other people that being not very good at the game I find the stock game to be complicated enough without all the changes but would love to have a cleaner better map without those ugly lines in between the regions like in the original AWD. Even though the forum seems dead from the downloads I've been getting for my icons its seems people are still buying and playing the game but would rather play the stock game at least until they get better.

I did the replay button for the German chip and re uploaded it.
