How do you skip a simul Diplomacy phase ?

OK as host running a v1.08.04 game I cannot work out how I can skip a diplomacy phase for another nation (or even AI it).
I don't think you can even take a backup and play it for them ?
Am I right ? Does anyone have any suggestions ? If you can no longer skip diplomacy phases this is potentially a major sticking point.

Are you talking just about the host functions? Do the player controlled functions still work?

I'm talking specifically about the host functions. What do you do if someone doesn't submit their diplomatic phase ?

I agree that it might be a real problem if the host skipping/play AI functions don't work. Not sure why they wouldn't.

As far as I can see they don't because you can only skip/AI someone's phase when it is up on your PC and because diplomacy is now simul it never is.

I'm not sure, but someone's dip phase might come up if you are France. At the end of our French players dip phase, the game said he would need to load Russia's turn (i.e. the normal sequence). However, for our British player, the game said to load the Spanish file. It appears you only load the players after you in the normal sequence (an attempt to reduce the number of files needed to be loaded). So if you are France, you migt get everyone else's turn, but not if you are the British player.
Not much help, I know.

True that you could not skip a simul diplomacy phase because it is simultaneous so effectively there is one diplomacy phase of several nations.

So how do you deal with a situation where the game is stuck waiting for a player's turn ? You can't skip his turn, you can't create a backup to replace him.

Well the only way would be to go back to the Auto back up of the Diplomacy phase made for the host, and start over

You don't today! I will have to code some type of skip option for players that have not submitted their turn BUT this would have to be for the LAST player in the phase (Spain) and not necessarily the host???
Frankly, I did not see this since I simply wanted it to work!

It would also be less confusing, if after playing a sim diplomacy phase, the game informed you that it was the Spanish diplomacy, instead of incorrectly pointing to the next player in the traditional sequence. This is not a major problem, but would help alleviate some confusion.
