Concerning: Pearl Harbor Status Report
Sir,
Japanese aircraft have attacked Pearl Harbor port and air bases. Although we were totally suprised by the attacks our troops responded greatly and only little losses were obtained. The battleships West Virginia, California, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma are slightly damaged just as the New Orleans. Our other battleships are ready for battle. Our scouts have lost contact with the Japanese carrier fleet and also our submarines have not found it yet.

Unescorted Nell bombers have attacked Wake Island and bombarded the runway. We managed to shoot down 4 of them.

Japanese bombers have bombarded Manilla port and managed to sink SS Perch, SS Snapper, SS S-37, SS S-40, PT PT-32, AKL Paz, AKL Palawan, DD Pope and AM Quail. The AKL Corregidor, AM Bittern, AKL Princess of Negros, DD Peary, AV Langley, AO Pecos and AP Rochambeau were heavily damaged. Evacuation of all merchant ships in the Philippines have bene ordered.

The Japanese landings are covered by Japanese aircraft which have supreme air supriority. Only few of our planes got through the CAP. However, one of our Vildebeest managed to hit the Haruna.
