Any Developers Still Here?

I know this forum is relatively dead, however, I still enjoy this game and have a suggestion for an improvement.
One thing I would really LOVE to be able to do is create elite units. I know having a commander increases the effectiveness of a unit, however, it would be nice to be able to have one or two better than average units, like SS for the Germans, Red Guards for the Russians and what not.

Yes all the action is on the Slitherine forum for this game. There you will see details of the the latest beta (2.0) for the excellent Grand Strategy Mod which includes a lot more improvements including elite units - SS and Russian guards and opposed landings. The good news is that they are planning to release it for general use by Christmas. That free mod is already great fun to play particularly in multiplayer games and has significantly increased the realism so if you haven't already downloaded it I'd encourage you to do so.
Worth noting also that there are some great AARs on the game on that forum - well worth seeing - as well as a very active opponents finder thread.

Thanks Ironclad. I didn't even realize there were these mods out there. I still just have the Gold version. [8D]
