We must have the same book. I am not convinced, as those ranges are at max speed according to my book.

Upon further reading C1, C2 & C3 classes were all from the British 'C' Class.

Under that I find Range 1000 nm at 8.75 kts surfaced. Which makes sense.
12kts max for 660nm, And then 1000nm for 8.75kts.

Holland, Kaigun-Holland are listing those ranges at max speed.
For most ships a reduced speed gives them their range.

Does that make sense?

Conway's All the Worlds Fighting Ships 1906-1921

There is also a 1922-1946 and a 1860-1905.

Own all three.

There's FOUR volumes of Conway's.

Anyway, if those ranges don't work for you, you have two options:

- Make the boat's speed rating conform to the range figures you have, or

- Adjust the range rating to suit the speed figures.

Since it's a relatively safe bet that the two are linearly linked, a simple percentage calculation should be enough.

The 1922-1946 is available from Naval Institute Press (Naval Institute) and also Amazon. These are new copies. The others are used. My favorite site for used books is Abebooks.com, but Amazon also has a used book search feature.
