Extremely jittery/fast mouse

not sure how to solve this...
my mouse is extremely fast in this game -- it makes it all but unplayable, unfortunately.
i've tried setting mouse controls to slowest in my control panel -- but whatever changes i make in the control panel don't then apply within game.
i'm using Windows 7 x64
i've tried some other things like disabling vertical sync in the nVidia control panel. Also setting text size (DPI) to 100% (i noticed the ingame fonts were too big -- so, while setting to 100% DPI made the text appear normal, had no effect on the mouse speed).

Have you set the camera scroll and camera rotate speed to minimum in the Options?
Actually, my experience has always been the opposite, the mouse is/was too "floaty" which is an indicator of overloading my system. But try the camera speed options in the game and see if that helps at all.

Thanks for the advice, Rick. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to help. The map scrolls / rotates slower, but the mouse pointer itself is still very difficult to control because it's so sensitive and fast. Makes selecting an infantry squad, or using the drop-down menu tree, especially excruciating.
How can it be that my mouse settings set via the control panel have no effect in game??
I really wanted to get back into this game before the release of Ostfront... but there's just no playing it under these conditions. Anything else I can try?

I cant really think of anything else to try. the mouse actually moves too fast?
If it's any consolation, there are a LOT more hotkeys available in PCO, the allow you to issue most orders, as well as cycle through units without using the mouse.
