Better late than never. Is it perfect? Unlikely. However perfection is the enemy of good enough
This is especially important to programmers.
I feel that people who make a good product should be rewarded, or they stop trying.
The hobby needs people who try.
I hope that you old timmers will post some url about Jap production changes(suggestions)
Since all I know is from WITP 1st ed
So I am assuming I can use some advice.

Welcome. AE is a truly huge improvement over WITP, and I think the bulk of the folks here will agree.
On Japanese production, a good source of info is Mike Solli's AAR "Here we go again". He gives a lot of detail on how he handles it. There are others there too with good info. Check them out.
A couple of key items-
Don't overexpand Japanese industry. That's the easiest way to sink the economy. In the first couple of months I expand certain airframes and engines some, and vehicle production. Not much more than that.
When you make changes, do it incrementally, and closely monitor results. There is no hurry.
The Tracker tool is a great way to keep an eye on what's going on.

I think FatR has another one running now too. Something like "IJ production mistakes" or somesuch. This could be valuable for you.

You can review Mike Solli-san school of economics (better known as his AAR thread)

It took me more then a year to get hooked by it, because its faaar to complex for a "learning by doing" as i do in most other games - and i even bought a copy with printed book to read while playing. But now its on of the best strategic games i ever played, and i am still learning (i just dont feel ready for a PBEM, yet).
