I am working on a St. Lo scenario. Would people be interested in a St. Lo mission?

Great! I figured posing the question in that way would give me a biased response only from ppl who care. [:)]

I am working on getting more precise order of battle and historical accounts, visiting library and getting a few books.
If anyone has any information they'd like to share about the battle from July10-July18 1944, whether obvious or obscure, please let me know!

Crushingleek, Dan lamb did a hedgerow mod and Normandy map for HTTR a few years back. I don't know if you own HTTR but here's the files, hopefully they can be put to use. Although the links are dead, here is Dan's blog where he talks about the mod: http://hedgerowmod.blogspot.com/2004/09/download-instructions.html

the files are in the attachment for this post.

Here's another one he did called "Carentan".

These are for HTTR only, although the maps should open and convert in the mapmaker.

Files attached.

Geographicaly - its a monster.. Will be very interesting tacticaly. South-East hill is the key to the city..

But the comunity here is dead.. walking zombies [8D] Noones playing online..

Poeple are locked in limited AI scheme. Where the best expierience is reached trough HVH..

No online pool - Thats a big minus to the series.. A BIG ONE

Excellent, thanks. I will take a look when I get a chance.

I saw that Carentan had been done in HTTR, but I didn't see St. Lo so I thought why not.
Does Dan Lamb tinker with BFTB?

Looks terrific. [&o]

Here's a great link (probably goes under "obvious" but you never know...)

Documentation from the Historical Division of the War Department?

That's like totally way beyond obvious, can't beleive you even went there.[:D] jk jk
Thanks for that, any help is good.

I have gone through that a bit, only problem is the online version is cut off in some crucial places.
I will definitely be looking for that at the library to get the missing info.
Still, I think its a little scant on the Axis whereabouts, so I'll also be looking through a book by Yates.

I see from that American forces in Action series website the approximate locations of German regiments, which isn't too bad for a start, but it'd be great if they had battalion level detail!

btw, thanks for honoring me with your first threat post akclimber!

Simovitch, unfortunately I wasn't even able to open the maps with the BTFB mapmaker. Thanks for the help though. Let me know if there was any feature of that mod you found on point that I should consider including as well.

rename the map file to stlo.cop, it should open (it worked for me). Daniel (Rooster) Lamb was an active participant with the team until suddenly about 3 years ago he just disappeared.

His hedgerow mod is kinda cool:
