We assume you are running Win7, probably Utlimate or Enterprise? The immediate work around should be Rt Click and "Run As Administrator".

I'm personally working with Matrix to confirm the patch and the version that goes onto the DVD is correct.

Thanks it's Vista. Running as administrator works, never thought that would be the problem seems odd. I've set all the exe properties in the folder toto run as an administrator.

I have now downloaded and run a number of your games and this is the first one that has had to br run as an administrator on any operating system. There might be something wrong with the download.

Also I can find nowhere to register the game.

Of much, much more importance. I suddenly found myself running out of disk space so had to do some weeding out and stupidly I weeded out this download, all 2.9GB of it. I'm not having a good time here. How can I re-download it and is it worth doing if there is something wrong with the package?

Again, this "Run As Admin" situation is a known defect in our installer, and is being addressed.

When you get registered (check your email - I think the info is in there) I believe you'll have the necessary information for downloading again. I'm sorry that I can't answer that specific question as Matrix handles all the delivery, serial number, money side of things.
