Say you wanted to move this mechanized unit from A to B. He's in ignore losses status right now and if he gets interdicted on the way he's going to maybe suffer a loss. So shouldn't a person put the mechanized unit in minimize losses setting before moving it, and then AFTER arriving at the destination put it back in ignore losses? Would that lower the net losses total?

Mightn't that make him stop before reaching his destination if he gets attacked?

Going to 'minimize' is something I've been doing for some time now...seems alright to me...

And no, I've never seen a unit 'stopped' by being in mimimize, eh? I might be just lucky with this, but.......?

Ditto. Only seen em stopped when entrained and interdiction detrains the guy. Can't recall seeing while just doing a basic move.

The only reason I'm asking is that the difference in total losses might be significant. In the double digits perhaps.

I can remember reading something about German movement during Falaise where they had to hide under trees/woods etc during daytime due to Allied airpower. That would certainly equate to going into 'minimize' during movement, eh? Further, I've noticed that being in minimize is sometimes the only way to leave 'in contact' hexes (if they're well armed).

Considering that 2015 is either a day or a half-week per turn, that fact that a cmdr changes his mind about the stroke his troops take on the move.....I just don't get your problem with this, eh? Seems perfectly normal to me!
